Fall is here...time for Carolina football

Nolyn is all smiles these days....and it is the big cheese smile that she smiles so hard she shuts her eyes as well. She is fifteen months old, and my crazy rough and tough girl. She has 6 teeth, but 4 more coming in right now!

Raegan is my little big 3 year old, who started preschool a few weeks ago. Daddy took on her first day, she waved goodbye, and has looked back since. She loves it and loves all her new friends. She is growing up way too fast!

I love these little girls with every fiber of my being and I hope to be able to give to them each day the happiness they bring to me. I mean look at these smiles. I'm one lucky lady!

Grandma and Grandpa visit Atlanta

As always, it was great to have my parents visiting from North Carolina, but as always it was also way too short of a visit. We had such a great time and even were able to have an adults night out and enjoyed a nice dinner and drinks. Mom and I did some shopping and the boys went running. We went to church and had lots of laughs. Best of all was watching the interaction between the girls and their Gma and Gpa. It was all smiles all weekend, and as we dropped them off at the airport today, Raegan and Gma were blowing kisses to each other and Raegan yelling "Bye Gamma, I miss you, I so sad....love you..."

Time to plan their next visit.

It has been a crazy few months....hence the lapse in posts. We have moved back to Atlanta, Georiga. Chris was promoted within Diageo and now works at the regional office here. Nolyn is 5 months old and Raegan is 2 going on 10. We just had a great Halloween Night with the girls and are enjoying the warmer fall season. Our gamecocks are having a great season and looking to contend for the SEC title. I am so happy to be back south and hope we never leave!

Am I really a mother of two little girls! Nolyn Lee Herron was born at 2:18pm on Monday May 24th 2010. She was 7lbs 14oz and 20 inches long. It was a wonderful labor and intense delivery (to say the least). The only thing to say is more power to the women who opt for a natural birth. My epidural did not work, and by the time the nursed believe me, yep it was too late and all natural it would be. WOW! I have never experienced such a crazy, intense time ever! Thank goodness I went from 7cm, to complete, to pushing, to Nolyn's arrival all within about 10 minutes. I maybe pushed 3 or 4 times. It was as Chris puts it, just like a movie scene. Nurse leaves to get doctor who is in middle of csection, I am now crowning and there is nobody in the room. He runs into the hallway yelling for help. The doctor made it in time, but only had enough time to put on gloves, no gown, or mask. Too funny. But she is here, and healthy and wonderful. Now time to begin our life as a family of 4. OH ME OH MY!

38 weeks 2 days. Morning of ECV

So yesterday Chris and I went into Norwalk Hospital around 11am for the attempted Flip of Baby Deuce. The chances of success are actually not great. About 58% to most recent studies. My doctors were not even sure if they would attempt the ECV for me because of my high risk pregnancy and complications from my blood clotting disorder. But Praise God they did, and we successful. Deuce is no longer breech but in the head down "ready position." It was a little uncomfortable and a lot of pressure, but overall not nearly the pain I had thought it would be. It also took less then 30 seconds probably to actually flip the baby. me and baby had to be monitored about an hour before and afterwards to make sure we were okay, but the actually flipping took no time at all. It makes it seem a little like it never happened. I have to attempt yesterday, and still today I am struggling with not freaking out that Deuce will turn back heads up. My doctor didn't give any actual numbers but according to my Internet research only about 4% turn back, but for some reason I can't shake the thought in my mind. So I am continuing to say my prayers that s/he stays down and we have a baby here soon. I am set for an induction on Monday the 24th, so just about 4 days from now. But baby can come anytime s/he wants! I am ready!

I am uploading these pictures of me and my first little baby girl! She is almost 21 and half months old! I can't believe she will be turning 2 in July. I want to cherish these last few weeks here before baby deuce is born knowing this is my last time with her as my only child. I fear (like most moms having a second child I think) on how I am going to love a second one as much as I love Raegan. And how I want to be fair to each child and give them the love and attention they both will need and deserve. I think Raegan is going to be such a good big sister, but I also know it is going to change her world forever. I get a little sad sometimes thinking that when we have this one, I am some how taking away some of her "babyness" and forcing her to grow up. Or maybe this is just all pregnancy hormones acting up.

On updates for Raegan...she has gotten 4 teeth in the past month, so it has been crazy to say the least. She has 3 new molars and one new lower front right tooth. She is still way "behind" the norm but catching up quickly. She also has an allergen induced asthmatic bronchitis. She was coughing for several weeks, but had no fever and no other sick symptoms, but I took her to the doctor and never expected to hear my little girl was so sick. She is on 2 inhaler medications and will be rechecked next week. She is still a little go getter and full of energy. With the nice weather she spends as much time outside as she can. Her two favorite outdoor activities are playing in the sandbox and ....collecting rocks. Yep she collects rocks passes them out to us...or piles them up.....and then usually returns them to various spots in the yard. Too funny. She enjoys coloring and is starting to get the idea that we only color on paper....thank goodness crayons wash off easily. She also loves doing anything mommy and daddy too, and helping us with cooking, cleaning, and putting things away. She is also very into her baby dolls and playing pretend mommy with them. She has started taking them with her everywhere we go, the gym, the store, on walks, to bath, you name it and baby comes along. I hope she is this excited when Deuce arrives.

So Chris and I went this morning to see a 4d ultrasound scan of baby deuce. We were fortunate with our pregnancy with Raegan to have an OB office that did the scans there for you. For this pregnancy our office does not offer this but Chris and I really wanted this memory for our second child so we went this morning and spent a half hour just watching our little deuce in 4d. It was so amazing and felt so wonderful to do something special for this second child. We think it looks like a boy...but what do we know, we thought Raegan looked like a boy! We also think he/she looks like Raegan did at her 4d scans so who knows. Deuce was so active and was a little camera shy. He/She was moving around and trying to get his/her hands in their mouth. Deuce was yawning and rubbing his/her eyes and it was so awesome to see. So her is two of the photos and I love to be able to share it with you all! God is Great!

34 weeks

34 week checkup today...and me and baby deuce are doing good. Heartbeat was 140bpm and estimated weight was 4lbs 8oz. The only snafu at this point is deuce is still in a frank breech postition. After this point it becomes less and less likely for him/her to turn head down. I will continue to pray in the next 5 weeks he/she listens to me and moves down. Time will tell, but I am definitely freaked out about the idea of a csection. AHHHH

Here is mommy and Raegan poolside in Sarasota, FL. We headed there for David and Katies wedding. Chris was a groomsmen and Raegan the flower girl. We had fun playing in the pool and were so thankful to have Nana and Papa come too so we had help with Raegan. She is a water baby for sure! And just to note I am 32 weeks pregnant here and being very brave letting it all hang out!

My little girl Raegan loves sunglasses and bows, and shoes, and being a girl, but will throw mud and play in the dirt at the same time! Love it. This was the rehearsal night and she was so adorable. Raegan is about 20 months old and growing into a little girl each and every day.

My gorgeous flower girl. She didn't quite make it down the aisle but nonetheless the most amazing flower girl for 20 months ever! She looked good and had fun!

So hard to get family photos these days. But I made sure we had at least one of us the night of the wedding. Chris looked so good and when I look at this photo now I can't believe we only have a couple weeks left before we are a family of 4.

March 19th Update

Still never sure why I put these out there except maybe for me to look back at and laugh. But here is my almost 30 week belly. I am definitely carrying diferently then I did with Raegan. I am much rounder if that makes any sense. In some ways I look at how big again and think wow I have so much more time I am going to be huge (you definitely forget how big you are at the end). I also think wow only 8 weeks to go (before induction since I won't go on my own and the doctors won't let me go past 39 weeks). ONLY 8 weeks!
Chris (aka Daddy) and his precious lil bear. Raegan is 20 months old and a ball of energy. Now that the weather is getting "warm" (for the north that means in the upper 50s) we have been outside as much as possible. Raegan likes to gather like items. Mostly rocks. She will find as many as she can and pile them up. It is too cute.

Nana came to visit while Chris was out of town. How nice to have family come and give me some extra hands to help out with Raegan. Much harder bending over these days! Nana, Raegan and I did some shopping with daddy gone and ordered Deuces' crib and dresser and thanks to Nana for the new moses basket! Love it!

How cute is she! She is so verbal these days. If she is awake she is talking. She still only has 4 teeth, but that's okay. All in time I guess. Raegan weighs 22lbs (wow big girl ; 0 ) Her favorite time is Tuesday morning music class with her buddies Brayden, Madeline, and Avery. She is very Miss Independent and is loving playing big sister with her baby dolls. I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I love her so much!

18 week ultrasound

So here is deuce at our 18 week ultrasound. Heart beat was 147 bpm and everything looked great on the baby. We stayed strong and turned our heads when the tech went south. Chris and I, and apparently a lot of others are all thinking boy. I guess we will find out in May! We are bringing in the New Year at home here in CT, with a fresh 4 inches of snow that fell this morning. Not sure how many of these holidays we will have up here so we will take in the beauty of the snow, stay warm inside, and look forward to warmer days ( when do they come up here, April? May?).

So it is crazy to think I started this blog shortly after we found out we were pregnant with Raegan, our first. This was about 2 years ago. And I can't believe I am writing today talking about your second pregnancy. We found a few days after Laura's 30th birthday. Somewhat of a surprise, we are so blessed and so happy to be having a second baby and that Raegan and this baby will be so close in age, just under 2 years! I am almost 11 and half weeks pregnant and this time it is going much faster. I guess keeping up with a toddler occupies most of my time. We have been to a couple Dr appt and they have all gone very well. We have heard the heartbeat twice and last Wednesday we saw Duece moving and kicking around. Amazing for someone that is only 2 inches big. We are gearing up for a week down in Atlanta for Thanksgiving and will be seeing lots of family and friends. WE love and miss them all so much. Above is a the 11weeks and 3 day ultrasound photo of duece. Heartbeat was 167bpm. If you look close you can see a hand, leg, and some toes tucked up under his/her butt.

Raegan, mommy and daddy are ready for some gamecock football. We leave on Thursday for Raleigh for the opening game against NCSU. We are so excited to see family and watch some football. Raegan was trying on her cheerleading outfit (Thanks to Mr and Mrs. Jennings) and we had to show everyone how cute she looked. Raegan is a little over 13 and half months old weighing in just over 19lbs. She still has only 2 teeth but they are the cutest 2 teeth! We have plans to travel to Columbia for the USC v Kentucky game as well as the USC v Clemson game. We hope to see and catch up with lots of family and friends! Love to all!

My first attempt at putting pigtails in Raegan's hair. She actually let me do it without much a fuss. She has 2 teeth, she is walking everywhere. Has a few new words in her vobulary like shoes, and "uh-oh". She probably weighs about 19lbs and has such fun personality. Chris and I took her to the park on Saturday and played "soccer' with her. She absolutely loves being outside. We leave for Raleigh in 10 days for opening football game between USC and NCSU. We are so excited to see family and friends and of course a good gamecock butt kicking to the Wolfpack!

So Nana and Papa came to visit us here in CT and we decided to take Raegan out exploring the Maritime aquarium and Beardsley Zoo. She loved the colorful fishes and would try to grab them out of the tank. The zoo was also nice, small and few animals, but the weather was so nice and we all had a great time getting out and walking around. Raegan's favorite was the stinky pig. They made her laugh with their funny oink oink noises.

So in the last few days in South Carolina Raegan went to the pool with her buddies Blake and Madison. She had such a great time and got dunked for the first time under water! We miss everyone so much and can't believe we live in CT where the highs are in the 70's right now.

She says mama, dada, bye bye, and working on bottle. She also talks baby talk all the time. A total chatter box. She loves playing outside and eating grass, a little extra fiber for her diet. She is in some ways all girl, and in a lot ways a lot of boy.

Worse was about 30 mins earlier she ate one of these, though I did not know that \she was chomping down on a SCORPION...I only found the remains of part of the tail in her mouth. I guess she should audition for fear factor! After calling my parents, the Kolbs, and poison control, I decided she would make it with little to no scars.....holy crap does my little girl put me through the ringer.

7 months and counting

Raegan is 7 months old and is changing so much. It is hard to remember that it was just at Christmas time that she was learning to sit up on her own, now she is trying to figure out how to crawl!

She is still happy as can be and love the camera! Raegan sleeps from about 730pm to 730am (most nights) and is down to 2 naps a day.

Chris is such an amazing husband, father, and friend. I am so blessed to have him in my life and to be starting our family together. Every day he does something to remind me of how special he is. I thank God for him and Raegan each and every day. We are best friends and I can't wait for him to get home from business in Connecticut.

This is our one year wedding anniversary. We had such a special night and I love all of the memories we have together.

Wrapping Christmas Presents

So I feel very ahead of the game this year with my presents wrapped and under the tree. I love the way a Christmas tree looks with presents under it. It reminds me of childhood, of family, and of Santa! I just can't believe I am now the parent and we have a little girl. I remember this time last year and Chris and thinking how crazy it would be "next year at this time we will have a baby." Now here we are with a baby and Christmas time with our family and our memories and traditions. I love my daughter and husband and love building our family memories together. Love this little girl!

Here we are on Raegan's first thanksgiving. Crazy to think it was this time last year we found out that we were expecting our first child...and now here we are with Raegan 4 and half months old. Such a blessing.

She is so adorable in her first thanksgiving outfit. I think if she could tell us, she would be thankful for her sweet potatoes. haha

Raegan went to see Dr. Whitaker today for her 4 month check up and second round of shots. She weighed 13lbs 8 oz (so 13 and half pounds) and was 25 and half inches long! She also started her first rice cereal today and did not want anything to do with it. She had no idea what to do with a spoon in her mouth and she made a "yucky" face when she tasted the cereal for the first time! We will try again tomorrow and hope to get her used to the spoon and maybe by Thanksgiving we can try Sweet Potatoes! Yum.

SO technically I am two days shy of 3 months but mom had me dressed up all pretty today so I thought I would have her take my 3 month photo. I am getting so big now. I am probably a little over 11 lbs and over 24 inches long. I love to smile, laugh, and talk. I also have learned to play and grab my toys. I am trying to figure out how to get my toes and it makes mommy laugh watching me try. I am sleeping (usually) about 7 to 9 hour stretches at night which makes mom and dad very happy. Som days I nap well, some days I don't, but I am learning. I am looking forward to my first halloween, and thanksgiving, and of course my first Christmas. I am also getting baptised at Chapin United Methodist Church on November 23rd. So exciting.

Am I a bad Mom?

So I am feeling so frustrated today and feeling so guilty that I am actually looking forward to work tonight because it means a few hours away from Raegan. She is having a tough day and not napping and not really happy in my arms either, so I am out of things to try except letting her cry, which is soooo hard to do and hurts me to hear but, I don't know what else to do. It is frustrating because some days she does so well and goes down for her naps easily and takes 3 to 4 naps including at least one longer 2 hour nap, then there are days like today where she has not taken longer than a 30 minute nap and that is after fighting it for 30 minutes. So any ideas, or suggestions from you veteran moms, please let me know. Am I a bad mom for wanting to get away from it for a few hours? Am I doing something wrong? Will it ever get better?

So Raegan loves bath time now and it always gets her ready for bed time. Well she was really fussy and tired and ready for bed so we were doing a quick bath and during the middle of her shampoo....I look down and she is sleeping, no not just shut my eyes and relax sleep, she was completely out. So I quickly ran to get my camera to take a picture and laughed. She probably was sleeping for a good 5 minutes like that before I took her out. I continued to run warm water over her belly, but she never moved. How cute is that!

So Chris and I took 10 week old Raegan to her first tailgate. It was USC vs Wofford and the weather was perfect. We didn't make it to the game, just the tailgate and she was an angel. She met Kerri and Ben, which was her favorite part! The original tailgate crew was all present and it was a wondeful day all around.

Raegan went to the doctors today to get her first round of shots. She screamed at first but did really well overall. It was probably harder on mommy then on Raegan. She is almost 10 weeks old and weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces. She was 23 and half inches long. Way to go Raegan. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

Going to see the Gamecocks Play

So I am off to see the gamecocks play this weekend against Wofford. It will be my first time away from Raegan for more than a few hours but she will be In good hands with nana and papa Herron. She is going to have such a good time with them, but I am going to miss her like crazy. I am debating on whether or not to bring her along for part of the tailgate, but it might be too much for her at only 9 weeks. We are going to hang out with our good friends Matt and Kristen Stephenson and I hope we get to cheer the cocks on to a victory. I mean it is Wofford for goodness sakes. I love my husband so much for encouraging me to go to the game and to get away for a little bit. I mean worse case I am miserable and I leave the game to come home to her. And at least she is with Family for this first time away and not just a babysitter. Though I know we will have to cross that bridge shortly. I am enjoying this amazing weather and hope that it stays this way. I am over the 100 degree summer days. Goooo Gamecocks!!!!!

So I headed back to work today with a job in Atlanta, Georgia. It was pretty difficult leaving this morning, only because I am going to miss her sooo much. But she is in great hands with her daddy. I hope they are having a great time together and that Raegan behaves for daddy. He is such a great dad and I have no doubts that Raegan will enjoy her day with daddy. It is so hard to be more then 3 hours away from her.... I love my work, but I will be racing home as soon as I finish.
